Request for Proposals - Fire Protection Dry Hydrant Installation

The Town of Belgrade is seeking a formal bid to install a fire protection dry hydrant located at Long Pond Drive in the village of Belgrade Lakes (Long Pond). Sealed bids will be received at the Belgrade Town Hall addressed to: Town Manager, Attn: Dry Hydrant Installation Project- 990 Augusta Road, Belgrade, Maine 04917 until 12 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened on Thursday, June 27 at 1 p.m. by the Belgrade Fire-Rescue Chief and Town Manager. The Board of Selectpersons will review a list of bids at their regularly scheduled meeting on July 2, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at the site location for those interested on Thursday, June 6 at 9 a.m., 2024 to become familiar with the layout and to note or make recommendations that may vary from the specifications.

Per-diem firefighters/EMS providers

The Town of Belgrade is seeking motivated firefighters and emergency medical service providers to work per-diem schedules during summer weekends and when the Fire & Rescue Department's full-time personnel are on vacation or taking sick time. Per-diem schedules are based on 10-hour days, typically from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. to cover vacations and sick time for full-time firefighters/EMS. Hours may vary due to emergency calls. Per-diem firefighters/EMS are also needed for overnight shifts on Fridays (6 p.m.-8 a.m.), Saturdays (8 p.m.-8 a.m.) and Sundays (8 p.m.-8 a.m.) from Memorial Day to Labor Day.Per-diem firefighters/EMS are required to work four (4) shifts per year to remain as a per-diem employee.
