Code Enforcement/Plumbing Inspector
The Town’s code enforcement officer performs the following functions:
- Reviews building plans and issues building permits.
- Issues permits for indoor and outdoor plumbing projects, and inspects the completed work to ensure it meets plumbing codes.
- Investigates citizen complaints to ensure compliance with town ordinances, and initiates enforcement action (legal proceedings) when necessary.
- Reviews permit applications for completeness prior to Planning Board meetings. The code enforcement officer assists and advises the Planning Board at its twice-monthly meetings.
To apply for a building permit, submit the completed application through the quick links on the home page of the Code Enforcement Officer's page, with a site plan drawn to scale. Detailed instructions of what the site plan should include are included in the application. Applications are also available at the Town Office from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, except Thursdays, when the office is open until 7 p.m.
Office Hours Monday through Friday 8:30 to 1:30, Thursday evening 4-7 p.m.. On Monday, in-office hours will be 9 am- 12 pm, Thursdays in-office hours will be 9 am - 12 pm & from 4 pm to 7 pm. All other hours will be by appointment or chance.
